Putin has discussed with the vice-president of Syria a situation in the Near East

the Situation in the Near East and round Iraq was discussed during a MTG on Wednesday of Vladimir Putin with the vice-president of Syria Abdelem Halimom Haddamom. Concerning a situation in the Near East, the minister has noticed that the Russian side has underlined again the position - universal settlement will be possible, if it goes on three tracks: it is Israeli - Palestinian, it is Israeli - Syrian and it is Israeli - Lebanese, leaning against resolutions of the UN Security Council and the Madrid conference.

Coming back 2 a subject of Iraq, Ivanov has declared that " We support political settlement of a situation on the basis of the UN Security Council resolution ". As he said, Russia and Syria will continue to co-ordinate the efforts to this direction.

the minister has noticed that Moscow and Damascus have already brought the certain contribution, having contributed in acceptance of the resolution 1441 UN Security Councils.

Ivanov has reminded that in the end of MTH the Security council will hear reports JUNMOVIK and IAEA. Russia considers " necessary to take into consideration these reports and to give the chance to inspectors to continue the WRK ".

Coordination of efforts of Russia and Syria, and other states on political settlement round Iraq has very much great value, the minister has noted.
