Russia and EU prepare the joint statement concerning forthcoming expansion of the European Union - head the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia

Russia and EU prepare the joint statement which will fix concern of Moscow from communication with forthcoming expansion of the European Union. Head has informed on it to journalists on Thursday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov.

according to Lavrova, the questions connected with expansion of EU, were discussed during its bilateral MTGs with the European colleagues within the limits of the international conference in Berlin.

" it is necessary, that expansion of EU has not infringed negatively on interests of Russia. In this plan the joint statement of Russia and the extending European Union which will fix ours of concern is co-ordinated and to respond to them " - the minister has told.

according to Lavrova, concern of Moscow in trading - economic sphere have been almost removed after negotiations of the head of Ministry of economic development and trade of the Russian Federation Herman Gref W the European colleagues. " There was a question, concerning cargo transit to the Kaliningrad region, but we have bases to believe that it will be solved " - the minister has told.

according to Lavrova, there are also the questions connected W trading - economic agreements which while operate between Russia and the countries entering the European Union. Besides, the questions connected with the rights of the Russian-speaking population in the Baltic States are not removed, the minister has added.

" all these questions should RCV the satisfactory decision in the TXT of the joint statement in the form of obligations to settle these problems " - has informed Lauruses.

the minister has expressed hope that such statement will manage to be accepted. " then the report 2 the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Russia and EU which will extend this Agreement to new members of the European Union, can be signed by May, 1st " - head has noted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
