To prevent a high water, in the Ulyanovsk region blew up ice

In the beginning of March it seemed obvious that abundant of a moisture in soil will by all means call flood of the rivers, and houses in seven settlements of area will impound. However night frosts, together with strong winds interfered with plentiful thawing of snow, and water and has not risen to critical level. The role and the measures accepted by the Ulyanovsk rescuers have played.

- On the river Sura ice should be blown up around bridges, - deputy chief GU has explained the Ministry of Emergency Measures of area Nikolay`s Michael. – if we have not made it, under bridge transitions jams would be formed, and the river has overflowed banks. And so ice of quick starts to break away and thaw. On it at us has left about thirty kgs of an explosive, but the result of that cost. Also explosive works on the rivers the Herring and Profit were planned, but they were cleared of ice independently.

Besides, this year the Ulyanovsk rescuers have tried to cut for the first time ice special adaptations before a dam on Svijage. Blocks quickly became friable and thawed.

- We not spend the first year the big work on high water prevention, - Michael Gennadevich has continued. – Operative brigades daily leave on places of possible flooding, measure a water level, check a status of storm water drains, give talks with the population. In settlements the centres of time placing of citizens, emergency stocks of products are created.

So in the Samara region it has appeared it is impounded about 500 houses, it is evacuated more than 1000 inhabitants, from - for dim roads a number of settlements was not to reach. In the Saratov region has filled in six settlements, a line, in the city of Atkarsk has washed off two bridges, it was necessary to organise a boat crossing. In one of farms some tens cows have sunk. Now the water level has gone down to a normal mark, life gradually comes back in a habitual channel.
