Besides, we expected to receive from suppliers on three scanners of each mark from different price ranges: to $100, from $100 to $200 and over $200. From 24 scanners planned on such scheme on the test has arrived 18.

The powerful fluorescent lamps possessing a uniform spectrum of radiation, provide a good colour rendition and higher speed of scanning, but they have also lacks - the raised power consumption and long (till 30 seconds and more) time which is required for warming up a lamp at inclusion of the device in work.

At first a colour target have measured spektrofotometrom and have received reference figures in format Lab then the target was scanned on all scanners. The received images were loaded in Photoshop where the colour table can be seen in format Lab and to compare to the standard. Besides, for each scanner the tester spent even on four measurements. With a stop watch in a hand it measured time of performance by them of various problems. First of all, it studied, what is the time it is required to the device for calibration (self-adjustment before performance of procedure of scanning) and for a warming up of a fluorescent lamp (for scanners on light-emitting diodes it is possible to consider this time equal to zero). It is important enough characteristic of the scanner on which convenience of work with it depends. Agree, to wait for 8 seconds or 2 minutes until when the device will start directly scanning procedure, it is far not same. The measured time necessary for preparation of the scanner to work, is counted on 5 - a mark scale and makes an estimation 3.

Here the tester estimated, how much simply to connect the device and to establish on it the software necessary for work. He also paid attention that is included into the complete set ON: whether only drivers or still any useful programs which besides actually scanning allow to carry out other operations with the text or the image. An estimation incorrect russification of the applied software or absence reduced that. For the user of personal or office scanner possibility of dialogue with the device in Russian has important value. The general point was deduced as an average arithmetic all estimations.

We will note excellent speed CanoScan D2400U ($334) - 15 seconds on scanning of the text and 22 seconds on a photo (it is a pity that is not Russified ON). The device of giving of documents in model HP ScanJet 5550C makes heavier not only the device, but also its price ($434). The car for office: quickly copes with the text (18 seconds) and much more time spends for scanning of photos (52 seconds).
