Georgia has lost hope for the CISthe Bishkek agreement on a visa-free regime for citizens of the CIS was the unique document which was giving up hope of perspectivity of development of Commonwealth, the president of Georgia Edward Shevardnadze has declared today in interview to national radio. Making comments on intention of Russia to enter a visa regime with Georgia, he has specified that it is impossible to co-ordinate a question of an establishment of a visa regime to a question of a conclusion of the Russian military bases from territory of Georgia. We will remind that on Friday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has transferred to embassy of the Russian Federation in Tbilisi the note in which has suggested a management of Russia to keep a visa-free regime of movement of citizens of two countries. At the same time the Georgian foreign policy department has declared that “ if the management of Russia counts necessary to begin negotiations about forms of movement of citizens and visa regime introduction Georgia is ready to their carrying out “.
Meanwhile earlier representatives of many power structures of republic expressed support to visa regime introduction between two countries. So, past Friday the chairman of committee on defence and safety of parliament of Georgia Revaz Adamija has declared that visa regime introduction becomes an additional barrier to eradication of a stream of the illicit goods arriving now from Russia to Georgia. The chairman of State department of protection of state border of Georgia the general - lieutenant Valery Chheidze adheres to similar opinion also.
